About the project

Since its inception, the Hope Textiles Industry Project has progressed from producing tradition school bags, school uniform to women’s sanitary equipment and other fashion based products. We have contacted churches, mosques, school and government offices and met with the local community.

This has introduced young people to our project and advised them how to join the program with low cost.

The current team

Currently, Hope Textiles Industry have 20 girls who learn how to design different things using traditional materials such as Kitenge, Treads, Batik etc… They are trained with tailoring skills, craft making skills, arts, ornament and decoration. However with time we aim to equip them more, with designing skills to be able to design different model materials.

We are also currently requesting foreign volunteers interested in training our group on the issues of cultural arts and crafts as well as beauty, fashion and clothes making.
